You say I've got a way with words that always seems to make you smile, but lately every stupid phrase I say is coming out all wrong. Would it have killed you just to tell me when I'm stepping on your toes, instead of letting me offend your friends? You could have just left a note. I'm told it's not your way to bring things up that bother you. Just know it's killing me to be leaving all because I made a joke. I'm waiting to forget. I'm waiting on you. Wake up and check the tube. You're in the news well almost kinda counts. Can't help but smile and think if I was there we'd be a headline now. I schadenfreude my way through winter days of California cold. Works for a while but the sight of breath reminds me I'm alone. Think what you're up to. Suburban nights are full of time to think of San Francisco lights the first time that I offered you a drink. I'm waiting to forget. I'm waiting on... We separate into lines. We're two lines just forming. So now I wait. In queue for another chance. At this point maybe I should just try to dance.

We started simply enough with labyrinthine dreams of lust. The coldest nights we made blazing. And after all the years we spent molding each other to statuettes Can't say I'm happy with what I have made from you. So tell me... What do you have to take the place of all the dreams we planned? Cuz even after every thing's gone bad, one fact will always remain: the two of us in this fatal reverie. Wake up to the sound of rain. Another morning slips away. As do I in the driveway. Through the window wave back to you my personal waterloo. Gotta keep a straight face when I say there's no pangs. You say that I can't go on without this opulent love But I say that maybe you are the one who's afraid of what's coming up.

It's not the first time that I've tried to write a song for you. But for the first time I think I know the ending. I hope it's true. Awake to your eyes again you catch me fall for you. The morning's grey skied as I lose myself in pure blue. It hasn't been a fairy tale. No storybook ride. But I'm staring somehow knowing you're the love of my life Chorus: So let me know what your plans are for the rest of your life. Because I need to show what you mean to me And it might take a while. Tonight or the rest of my life. Can't comprehend why you put up with this tired act of mine. Undeserving me A fact I know but daily you deny I may never be rich I'm not some prince from afar But this working boy will build with pride a home for your heart. So forgive me for delaying This shouldn't be so hard to say. Just know the feeling's real even if the diamond's fake. This is where I end the song and drop down to a knee to finally ask you…
4.
Another night I need to think I my close my eyes to another drink Trace lines to where we went so wrong. Was it my work? maybe the holidays in Spain we never took? I can't bear to say "so long" Two questions please before you leave What did I do wrong? And can we please go back to being kids in love before the bills and pills and children's tales of war Just pretend the last 25 were all imagined haunts and all we need is just to see the sun come up over Founders Hall once more Your bags are packed Your mind is made I try to speak but nothing's changed The kids are grown so now you're gone Was there a warning? Am I just blind? deaf to the angel by my side Your car drives off I say "so long" Four bed three bath and now just me. What did I do wrong? (Chorus) And can we please go back to being kids in love before the bills and pills and children's tales of war Just pretend the last 25 were all imagined haunts and all we need is just to see the sun come up Just give me one more chance to be the man you love after the thrills and spills of youth are in the dust. Cause all I need is just to see the Sun come up with you next to me once more.

She a passionate bird Crimson lipped and a heart that burned With every kiss a burst Hotter each time she returned But he... couldn't help but scowl at the flower Chorus: So she burned... him away as he left her silently. Until she turned... into smoke and left her note to remind him how she burned A poem so often heard Two roads in a yellow wood She copied every word in hopes that he would understand that she... couldn't help her ephemeral infatuation Her ashes in his window left without a sound. Desires on that pyre leave no embers to be found.
